Ever feel like you just can’t find your footing? Like no matter how much you try you just constantly trip over yourself? I can relate. Growing up in Utah with a Mormon family, I couldn’t figure out how to navigate life. It didn’t help that I was a gay genderqueer person either. Every day I felt like I kept running into walls as I tried to figure out relationships, faith, and belonging. It was clear what my family and faith wanted me to be but that didn’t feel right. Even when I left the church, I still felt lost in Queer world especially when it came to figuring out anxiety, sex, and gender. I struggled to find my own path on my own terms.

In therapy, I learned that in order to choose where to go, I had to figure out who I was. By exploring my unique history and identities, I learned how and why I felt so lost. My life in Utah prescribed my future for me and told me it was the “good” and “only” way to live. Embracing my queerness allowed me to imagine a different kind of life. A life that was more liberated and joyful than I had ever allowed myself to believe was possible.

By exploring who you are, you can feel grounded in your identities and history. As a therapist, my approach is conversational, warm, and balanced. I can challenge you when the time comes, or take it slow when things get sensitive. While your history shaped you, it does not limit your potential. You too can choose who you want to be and what you want from your life.

When I’m not working you can find me either watching a D&D livestream, spending time with friends and family, or planning my next travel adventure.
